and the 2004 is priced pretty high, but it is very clean with only 5,000-plus miles.

Guess you would have to be some kind of Triumph collector nut-case to buy a 2004 Speed Triple for $5,000.

If it wasn't a big touring bike I might be tempted. I really don't care for fairings and I already have a perfect long-distance bike.

Now, if a Speed Triple or Speed 4 came onto CL for that price, who knows......?

Better still would be a Hinckley Trident but those are as rare as hen's teeth, at least around here...

Maybe Matthew called the fellow earlier and "Low Balled" an offer big time!Always thought the Trophy has the two left hand side mufflers,like "Shot Gun"style.Then again,Trophy's and Cub's are easily confused.

Just to let you know Dan,very little is happening on this Speed Triple.What l contacted the seller last night and suggested you stopping over to meet and to possibly put down a deposit on the bike,he sounded extremely opposed to the idea!Did send out an e-mail,have not heard back,so l would not worry at this at this time about going to look at the bike.If l hear back,l will let you know.
