The RetroTours ride starts in about a week. Joel, who is RetroTours, sent an update. The following bikes have been requested for the ride.

"They" are Joel Samick. He is an older guy who has collected a bunch of older bikes which he rides. I suppose at some point he decided that his bikes could be put to use. So ... he organizes rides in the Eastern United States, and provides cool old bikes on which to ride.

I chose the Redneck Gyro. I also asked to ride his 1976 Honda GL1000. I've always had a fondness for the Mk1 Gold Wings but never enough of a fondness to actually buy one. There will be others on the ride, and we will periodically swap bikes. I think Joel mentioned another guy wants to ride the 1975 Suzuki T500.

Due to some regulation/statute, Joel cannot charge for the ride but he suggests a contribution of $150/day. As far as I can tell, the only downside is the need to drive to Pennsylvania. I don't fly.

I'll report back when I see you in Meeker.
