Possible alternative route might be to go from Saratoga over the Snowy Range to Laramie, then take WY 230 back to the Southwest down to Walden and return to Denver via Cameron Pass. That would still be over 500 miles.

Subject: [emrat:9807] Long ride Saturday 7/15?
Anyone up for a long (500+ mile) ride on Saturday? I have a fresh oil change, a new set of tires, a nicely running bike and an all-day kitchen pass!
Thinking of doing a loop that goes up over Berthoud, then WIllow Creek to Walden, on to Saratoga (lunch stop) then up through Medicine Bow, a brief stop at the modern ghost town of Shirley Basin (30 miles North of Medicine Bow on WY 487), then back through Laramie, down 287 to Fort Collins and then back to Denver.
If you want to go, let me know. Tentative start point would be the Conoco in Morrison.
