Well, Doug has just posted to the EMRAT group before I could get the following email out to you. But, if you look closely at his email, you’ll then understand what I’ve written here . . .
At our Triumph club meeting Tuesday night, I said that one of the member of our EMRAT community, Doug Perkins, had been badly injured in an accident in early July on his Sprint ST, which was totaled.
A couple of weeks ago, I visited him and we had dinner, along with his son. Doug is facing substantial medical and rehabilitation bills, along with other related expenses.
On Tuesday night, I proposed a medical fundraiser benefit ride for Doug, and the group agreed. Thanks everyone! So, I’ll organize that in the coming weeks.
I’m looking at either Saturday, September 14th or Saturday, October 12th. I assume many people will want to watch the Broncos on Sundays, so I’ll go with a Saturday for the ride.

I’m thinking of a fairly modest ride, from a rendezvous spot in Golden up Golden Gate Canyon to Nederland for coffee (naturally) and then on up the Peak-to-Peak Highway and down to Lyons for lunch. Doug has said that he can join us for lunch.
