Hi!  I would maybe consider doing that in reverse.  There are two registration / shirt pick up times, Friday evening and Saturday AM.  The majority of the people are three Friday and Saturday night. Event festivities involve groups riding around the Taos area on Saturday, followed by the BBQ and prize drawings.

I am sure we could accommodate getting the shirt to you late if you arrive after the AM registration time, but a good number of people travel a fair distance (CA, Seattle, etc.) and have to depart on Sunday, leaving Sunday night much smaller and quieter than the previous 2.

Has anyone ridden this route and recommend any good towns with cheap motels to stay halfway between Denver and Taos on this route?  Is there another route people recommend down to Taos?

We are making this a four day trip.  But rather than riding straight down 285 to Taos in one day, we thought we would take two days to get to the festivities on Saturday.  Then, on Monday, we will go straight up 285 to get home.
