Video shows the bikers riding like a bunch of imbeciles. Were I in a car with my wife/kid, I would have run over anything necessary to get away from 70+ people like that. I see jail time for some of them.

Not sure who side to take here. But at any rate, there is relative safety in numbers when it comes to bikes.And you don't ant to mess with NYC bikers! They live under threat everyday on the road. I have ridden there and don't recommend it.
