We hope you will join us on May 22-25, 2013 for the Neighborhoods, USA 38th Annual Conference on Neighborhood Concerns. This year's conference is being hosted by the Neighborhood and Community Relations (NCR) Department, in partnership with Nexus Community Partners, the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board and host neighborhood, Citizens for a Loring Park Community (CLPC). The conference is expected to bring over 800 people to Minneapolis from across the country to share experiences and learn from each other. The 2013 NUSA Conference is designed to showcase and build successful collaborations between neighborhoods, cultural communities, residents, and government. The major themes of the conference are collaboration, equity and innovation: Minneapolis has a well-developed and funded engagement network: - 87 neighborhoods, 71 neighborhood organizations (Minneapolis)

- +20 years of vibrant neighborhood development
- $250 million invested in neighborhoods over the past 20 years
The Twin Cities is home to a robust equity movement: EquityNowTC is a diverse group of passionate people that are working together to achieve equity for the Twin Cities region and beyond. BluePrint for Equity is city wide strategic effort focused on creating equity within City government and local neighborhoods. The region provides an array of opportunities for learning and translating theory into practice: Latino Engagement Task Force - Resident led taskforce that is shaping a policy agenda for the Latino community (locally and nationally). Native American MOU – A formally established agreement of collaboration that shapes needs and outcomes for the Native community. Community Connections Conference - provides hands on learning environment for practitioners with the diversity, equity and inclusion movement. |
