I'm real happy that you enjoyed the ride to Salida this year. I had a great time with you all and putting it together is my pleasure. I look forward to many more good times this year with everybody. Thanks for coming!

    Those of you who have been asking me  about tv coverage for the upcoming Isle of Man TT (starts 6/1),I have found a very partial listing.If any of you have the Velocity channel on your cable/sat line-up,you are in luck.Info as follows;

    Sunday June 2nd @ 8.00pm mountain time.

This could be just the Saturday superbike race.Listing found at cyclenews.com (tv listings),so if the info is not correct, blame them and not me!
If you are lucky enough to view this, expect to be quizzed by me at the next Rat meeting.

Will keep checking the listings and will post as/and when I can obtain info.

FYI...I just saw an ad on Velocity for the Isle of Man TT. It said same day coverage all week long starting 2 June.

EMRATS; because of family obligations (new Grandkid/new puppie), I will not be able to ride to the TnT rally until Sat, 9/7.  Therefore, I am planning on staying until, Mon, 9/9. Is anybody else in this situation?  I would rather not ride alone, and I would be willing to split the cost of a room with anybody going down on Fri, 9/6.  Contact me at the June EMRAT meeting to hash things out.  Wayne E.

Yep.  What I was saying, in the red below, is that the weekend we have on our calendar 6-9, is leading by a 20-8 margin over the alternative weekend of 13-15.  All is good.  I was only asking that if folks wanted to help ensure the date we have on the calendar, the 6-9 weekend, to log on and vote if they have an account.  The chances are slim that  13-15 could have a come from behind victory, but you never know.

The current tally is 23 votes for the weekend of 6-9 vs 8 votes for 13-15.

along with me on my old Brit Iron. I will be riding my 68 T120R to Taos.

Jay and I will be making another trip to the west coast in July for the
National BMW-MOA Rally in Salem but one not need attend that event to join
us. The BMW rally features lots of live evening music, meals, vendors,
seminars and 5-8000 riders all for a very low cost of under $50 for guests,
less for MOA members. Don't we wish Triumph would underwrite RAT events!

We plan on leaving Sat morning July 13th and doing Colo and Utah back roads
spending Sat night camping in Green River, UT. Riding back roads in UT on
Sunday and camping in Great Basin National Park or in Ely, NV depending on
availability. Then we will do the Loneliest Road in America (a/k/a US 50)
to Reno and a few miles on US 395 in NE California to ?. The next day
will bring us into John Day, OR for the night but plenty of time to ride
the Strawberry MTs. Wednesday will take us to Salem on some of the best MC
roads in the US for the Rally thru Sat night. That's about 1800-2000
miles. Not an Iron Butt but plenty of good twisty 2 lane roads most of it
in mountains with lots of sites, picture opportunities and
    the occasional cold beer.

Anyone interested in joining us, let Jay or me know. Jay and I plan on
spending 10 days on the coast before heading back so this is probably just
joining us on the way out.

While we camp, there are of course motels near where we stay if that's more
    to your liking.

    Anthony Sean Donnelly <seandonnelly1@msn.com> May 21 03:47PM -0600

    Jay and Norm,

We are probably more likely to run into you along the coast. We aren't going to the MOA Rally, but our current schedule is as follows:

    Leaving Wednesday July 17th,

    July 17th - Lander, WY
    July 18th - Arco, ID
    July 19th - Juntura, OR
    July 20th - Albany, OR
    July 21st - Eureka, CA
July 22nd - Bodega Bay, CA
July 23rd - Redwood City, CA
July 24th - Off Bike Day SF - Alcatraz

Haven't quite finished sorting out how much further down the coast we want to go yet, or the route back. Thinking at least as far as Big Sur. Need to be back no later than Monday the 29th, probably more likely Sunday the 28th.

    - Sean

Thanks to IB Steve for putting on another fun Spring Opener, thanks to CPT
Bob, for bringing the mason jar of moonshine, thanks to Tomas for bringing
the Stranahan's, thanks to rest of the gang for some good times and
    conversation. I enjoyed the weekend!

    Norman Wright <lowrtax@gmail.com> May 21 10:30AM -0600

I thank Steve too, especially for the Red Stripe. I should have taken you
up on the offer to stay in Salida. Hy 285 to Fairplay was windy but okay.
However from Alma to Breckenridge it was snowing pretty hard. Fortunately
not sticking to anything except my face shield. Then when I got near
Frisco the sky opened up and it poured and it was a cold 36 degrees. I did
make it home before that rain turned to snow but I was soaked to the skin
as I figured it wasn't worth gearing up for 10 miles. Probably not a good
decision. My house and driveway were snow covered on Monday morning and
it was still snowing at the tunnel so I left the bike in Silverthorne and
drove my pickup back. It looks like it will be nice this weekend so I can
spend some time cleaning the bike and hope it's decent next Tuesday to
bring it back to Denver. Gotta love Springtime in the Rockies.

Just so the folks that did not go don't miss out on the adventure stories,
TK and his friend Andy got lost from the group (on purpose?) and ended up
in Cripple Creek. Always an adventure with TK. Lunch at the Hungry Bear
    was as advertised!.

Sarah's new Street Triple was very cool. Congrats on a good purchase.
Good to see Larry. Tim took lots of pictures so we look forward to the
    posting.

    Todd Kennedy <todd.kennedy1110@yahoo.com> May 21 11:15AM -0600

Yes, thanks Steve. The Spring Overnighter is the one I look forward to most. After a long cold winter there is nothing like a long, cold ride to start the season! Actually, Saturday was awesome but Andy and I ran into snow in Cripple Creek on the way home and had it periodically from Highway 24 over to 285 on Tarryall Reservoir Road. 40 miles of fun dirt, mud and sand (most of it at 40 mph leaving big rooster tails from time to time). Made it home by 2:45pm then had a 90 minute deep tissue massage to work out the multiple kinks.

Great seeing such a big turnout of RATs...made me realize how much I have missed riding with all of you. And Norm, sounds like you had your own version of adventure riding!

    See y'all soon.
