[emrat:2588] Tres Amigos Ride To Sturgis, Thursday, August 1st

Here’s the plan for the “Tres Amigos Ride to Sturgis”: English Steve, Brian Weberg and me.

 

Brian and I live in Lowry and will depart at 8:30 a.m.

 

We will exit I-76 at Fort Morgan where we will meet English Steve, gas up and go north first on Colorado 52 and second on CO 71 second, which becomes NE 71 to Kimball NE at I-80.

 

We’ll continue north on NE 71 to Scottsbluff on the Platte River for lunch.  Then we’ll continue to ride north on NE 71 and NE 71/2 through Crawford to Ardmore SD.

 

Then it’s up SD-71 to Hot Springs SD at the south end of the Black Hills.  From there, it’s north on US 385 to Nemo Road, Vanocker Canyon and Sturgis.

 

One idea of how a motorcyclist can spend eternity is to just ride Nemo Road and Vanocker Canyon, back and forth . . .

 

Our route is a bit west of the route that Norm has laid out for his group for the following day, Friday, August 2^nd.

 

Our route is probably the longest, slowest way to ride to Sturgis . . . but it’s memorable!
