This three-hour workshop will assist human service professionals in discovering and supporting the parenting goals of their adult consumers, utilizing a strength and culturally-based approach to learn from parents about their goals.
The second half of this highly interactive training session will focus on parenting strategies with proven effectiveness.

Participants will learn how to assist their clients by:
  • Engaging them in a conversation about the parent's goals for parenting;
  • Identifying the strengths and culture related to the parents' current parenting practices;
  • Identifying the needs of the parent as related to improving their parenting practices; and
  • Providing 'hands-on', evidence-based skill-based strategies to meet the needs the parents identify (for parents of young children as well as parents of adolescents)
