Chávez Day holiday. As a result of the holiday, the Mayor's Office, City Council offices, Clerk and Recorder's Office, Auditor's Office and most city agencies will be closed Monday, March 25. Partner entities such as Denver Health and the Denver Zoo will remain open Monday, March 25, as will agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty Monday, March 25 as well. Please see below for specific information on how city functions will be affected during these closures: 3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG & DENVER 8 TV 3-1-1, the city's information line for non-emergency services will be closed Monday, March 25. Service requests may be submitted online at denvergov.org/denver311. Updates are available continuously on www.denvergov.org. Programming will continue on Denver 8 TV. Live coverage of the Mayor and City Council will resume Tuesday, March 26. The weekly Legislative Session of Denver City Council will be held Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL CONTROL The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed Monday, March 25. Animal Control Officers will be available to respond to emergencies and enforce city regulations.
ARTS & VENUES DENVER All venues managed by Arts & Venues Denver, including the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center, The Coliseum and Crossroads Theater, will be open for scheduled events and performances Monday, March 25, and will take place as planned. The Red Rocks Amphitheatre, including the Visitor Center, the Trading Post and the Ship Rock Grille will be open during standard hours of operation.
BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS Building and Zoning permit counters will be closed Monday, March 25. No building inspections will be scheduled those days.
CITY-OWNED GOLF COURSES Golf Courses will be open Monday, March 25, weather permitting.
CLERK & RECORDER AND MARRIAGE LICENSES The Office of the Clerk and Recorder – including marriage licensing, the Public Trustee, Records and Recording – will be closed Monday, March 25.
COURTS The Denver County Court will be closed Monday, March 25. All state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building will be open Monday, March 25.
DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES The four Denver County Motor Vehicle office locations will be closed Monday, March 25. For vehicle renewal online, visit the state website.
ELECTIONS DIVISION The Denver Elections Division will be closed Monday, March 25.
EXCISE & LICENSES Excise and Licenses' customer service counters and offices will be closed Monday, March 25.
HUMAN SERVICES Denver Human Services will be closed Monday, March 25. The child protection emergency response team and child abuse and adult protection telephone hotlines will be staffed Monday, March 25. To report suspected child abuse call 720-944-3000. To contact the Adult Protection Hotline call 303-601-5669 (after hours number).
LIBRARIES All Denver Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, March 25 for the César E. Chávez Day holiday. Many of the Library's resources remain available when the buildings are closed via www.denverlibrary.org.
PARKING METERS, CASHIERS AND MAGISTRATE Parking meters are free on Sundays and on recognized city holidays and will be free Monday, March 25, until 11:59 p.m. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted and to follow all normal parking regulations on Friday and Saturday.
The Parking Cashier counter and the Parking Magistrate's office will be closed Monday, March 25. Parking violations may be paid when the counter is closed by using any of the following options –citation number printed on the ticket is required:
· Pay-by-phone at 1-866-280-9988 and follow the recorded steps using Visa or MasterCard. · Pay online at www.denverpvb.com using Visa or MasterCard. · Use the payment kiosk located outside of the Webb building on Court between 14th & 15th using Visa or MasterCard, or personal or business checks. Note: There is a 2.5% transaction fee for online transactions and for using credit cards in the kiosks. · Written correspondence to contest or investigate a citation may be sent to the Parking Violations Bureau at P.O. Box 46500, Denver, CO 80201 or e-mail may be sent to www.denverpvb.com. PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT COUNTERS
Public Works' permit counters and the Right Of Way Enforcement office will be closed Monday, March 25.
RECREATION CENTERS Highland Recreation Center, Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center and Platt Park Senior Center will be closed Monday, March 25. All other Denver Parks and Recreation regional, local and neighborhood recreation centers will be open Monday, March 25 until 4 p.m. For more information and directions to a regional recreation center, visit www.denvergov.org/recreation.
TRASH, RECYCLING & COMPOST COLLECTION Trash, recycling and composting will not be collected Monday, March 25, and service will be delayed one day following the César E. Chávez Day holiday. Monday service will be provided on Tuesday, and Tuesday service on Wednesday, etc. with Friday service on Saturday for that week only.
WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. Third Ave., will be closed Monday, March 25.
