[emrat:13481] RMRAT Monthly Meeting

Hi, All. As expected with the holiday weekend and the rescheduled DGR in CO Springs, there were only a few at today's meeting but it was still a good one.

Next month's meeting will be on June 25th, Saturday, at 9:00 AM at Foothills Motorcycles in Lakewood, Colfax and Wadsworth. I know I've been late posting up the meeting info for the past couple of months so I wanted to get it out there early for June. It has also been posted already on the Facebook Page as an event.

As a reminder, registration for Triumph in the Rockies 2022 continues. Please see the message with the registration information I need, and send me an email if you have questions.

[emrat:13476] Monthly RMRAT meeting, 5/28/22 at Foothills

Hi, RATs! Sorry for the late announcement again but the end of the month snuck up on me! We will again have the monthly RMRAT meeting at Foothills Motorcycles in Lakewood (Wadsworth and Colfax.) There will be a relatively short agenda. Alas, my motorcycle is in the shop getting a new chain so I will not be able to lead a ride but for anyone else who wants to, looks like a gorgeous day for one!

You may still be able to find some Anakee 3's around at a discounted price. But they were replaced in the Michelin catalog by the Anakee Adventure. The Anakee Adventure uses the same carcass as the Anakee 3, but uses a new profile and tread pattern and Michelins new silica rich 2CT (front) /2CT+ (rear) compound.

So while they definitely broaden the range over the 70/30 of the TKC-70, they aren't quite a 90/10 or a true knobby 50/50 like the TKC-80 or Bridgestone Battlax Adenturecross AX41 either :)

I bought it as a sport touring bike for the worn out "pavement" that I keep encountering in my travels, with the occasional foray down dirt roads. I love my FJRs but I need more flexibility to ride all the places I want to.

When these tires wear out, I'm spooning on some 90/10 rubber with good longevity. My KTM gets the knobbies (knobblies to our English cousins) for the dirt work. Besides I really feel the extra weight of that GS next to the 790. Different tires for different desires.

I am not sure how many folks in this group use the Continental TKC-80 on their primary or an auxiliary bike. But I wanted to let this group know about a recall on the tires manufactured between January 2019 and April 2022.
