[emrat:6481] March EMRAT Meeting

Hello all!

Well this month sure has gone by quickly! Our regular EMRAT meeting is coming up on Tuesday, March 3 already!

As usual, we will be meeting at the Interstate Kitchen and Bar at 10^th and Santa Fe. Parking is on street or in the garage, which can be accessed from the 10^th side of the building. As usual, watch your step as your enter the meeting area from the main dining area. Meeting starts at 7:00, but show up early to enjoy the fare.

This month our guest presenter is fresh off of his Triumph on a Triumph , at the first Thruxton cup race of the year! John Beldock will be sharing his experiences with us! I know many of us have been looking forward to this presentation, including myself! Interstate provides the whole seat, but you’ll only need………THE EDGE! Hope to see you there!

Greetings-

Denver Rescue Mission, Denver's Road Home, and Salvation Army are
responding to the winter storm forecast by opening overflow shelter for
men near Peoria and I-70. The Peoria overflow will be operational
starting Friday night (2/20) and ending Tuesday morning (2/24).

* Nightly protocols for staging to access this shelter will not
change. Men should arrive at Denver Rescue Mission Lawrence St. to sign
up before 5:30p. The first of three transports by two busses will begin
between around 7:30p.

* In the morning the first pickup at the overflow shelter will
arrive at 4:45a. Men will be transported back to Lawrence Street where
they will receive breakfast.

* Men will not be able to shelter in place during day hours at
Peoria. However, DRM will coordinate with St. Francis Center and open
the Lawrence St shelter dining room during the day if needed.

* During this period the overflow occurring at Denver Rescue
Mission's administrative building will be redirected to Peoria. All
overflow men at Denver Rescue Mission will be served at Peoria.

No problem. The couple Martin speaks of are Sue and Alan Elstob. Sara and I still keep in touch with them from time to time, though not as often as we should. They have a Tiger 800 they ride back home and abroad, this photo they sent from France.

Thanks, Sean. Well, I've decided that a one-day rental of one of these bikes will be what my kids can give me for Father's Day. Back in 2006, I rented an H-D 883 Sportster as their birthday gift to me and went riding with Curtis Graves and Tom Sangl and had a blast. I concluded that my driver's license would be much safer if I rode that bike instead of a modern Triumph . . . .
