For those of you that don't know:
Molly-Dharma Run - since 2007
The Molly-Dharma Run was started in 2007 to benefit MaxFund, a No-Kill Animal Shelter in Denver, Colorado.
This event was named for Molly-Dharma, a very large intimidating dog who was kept at MaxFund for over two and a half years before being adopted by Kirk. (Ken: I'm the man that walked Molly for over a year and a half at MaxFund before Kirk adopted her. I'm also the man that introduced Molly to Kirk when she looked, and acted, like she wanted to rip him to pieces. It was touch and go in the beginning, very difficult.)
We (Ken and Kirk) co-founded this event together in Molly's honor for MaxFund in 2007, ... and we've done this for eight years. (BTW, Molly was 11 in September of 2014, 105 lbs., slowing down but still going strong.)
In 2012, we decided that we would become a 501(c)3 organization in our own right, in order to help other shelters in Denver and Colorado.
This year, 2015, we're happy to have another worthy shelter to benefit from the 9thAnnual Molly-Dharma Run. That shelter is Every Creature Counts, Fort Lupton, CO.
For those of you that don't know:
Every Creature Counts - since 1992
- Every Creature Counts is a no-kill dog and cat shelter located in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Our mission is to eliminate the pet over-population problem. We rescue over 2,700 dogs and cats annually and adopt them into loving homes. We also operate a low-cost spay/neuter, vaccination, and dental clinic for dogs and cats. Our clinic spays and neuters nearly 7,200 animals each year.
Mission Statement: Every Creature Counts (ECC) is a Colorado non-profit organization whose goal is to eliminate the feral, stray, abandoned, and unwanted cat and dog population through spay/neuter, adoptions and education.
Our work is based on our belief that every creature does count and we make every possible effort to assist as many animals as we can. We view each animal as an individual and commit ourselves to providing the best possible care for that animal. Our success comes from knowing that our animals are on the road to finding, or have found, loving, forever homes.
The 2015 9th Annual Molly-Dharma motorcycle run will be held on Sunday, June 14th, and all proceeds will benefit Every Creature Counts. Participants may register online for the run until June 9th, at www.Molly-DharmaRun.org or in-person, the day of the run, at The Platte, 5995 S. Santa Fe Dr, Littleton, CO by starting at 9:00 AM.
