[The Network] Two weeks left until 'Nurturing Local Partnerships to Improve Services' -- September 14

Don't miss this great, full-day workshop, Nurturing Local Partnerships to Improve Services: Asset-Based Community Development

September 14, 2012, 9:15am to 4:15pm
Phillips Center, 1625 E 35th Ave, Denver, CO 80205

Asset-Based Community Development is predicated upon the notion that no plan, solution or organization from outside the community can duplicate what is already there. Some simple but powerful tools have been developed to aid in the process of community discovery and mobilization; tools that have emerged from practical experience. Dynamic presenter, Mike Green, from the ABCD Institute, will conduct this training.

Participants will:
  • Learn the principles of asset-based community development
  • Examine their own views of poverty and helping
  • Define the capacity of their current organizational environment to create community change
  • Envision their ability to act within that environment
  • Create an action plan to engage their community

For more information and online registration please visit: Nurturing Local Partnerships to Improve Services: Asset-Based Community Development

See the Network's other trainings and programs online, along with information on membership, our resource listserv and directory, and updated info in human services via our blog, calendar, and members-only online resources.
Full members of the Human Services Network of Colorado receive significant discounts on training registrations.  Memberships start at $45 for one year of benefits.

[The Network] Fwd: [Everyone] incorrect listing on food pantry list {01}

Apparently there is a list circulating that says "Scum of the Earth Church" (their real name) at 11th & Santa Fe provides free food to those in need. I've been informed that this incorrect and unfortunately some of our clients have arrived expecting food and have been disappointed. Please inform your clients or other service providers of this correction.
