Re: [emrat:10891] Sealing spoke wheels?

Norm:  From what I recall, though, it's not a straight-up swap.  For one thing, the only Bonnies that had cast wheels also had EFI and apparently the speedometer connection is very different between the EFI and carb'd bikes.  For a wheel swap, I almost thing I'd be better off finding some non-Triumph carbureted bike from the 1990's - early 2000's that might have a compatible wheel size.  Then there's the question of whether the factory brakes would fit, the factory sprocket compatibility (I don't know how "universal" motorcycle wheels are) etc.

I will post a question on the RAT board but I'm pretty sure it's a lot more complicated than just finding a set of wheels and swapping them on.

You might go on the Rat forum, sometimes there is someone who would trade out cast wheels for spoke because spoke typically come on the higher level models..  Look for posts, or post an offer your self.

Well, after another hassle with a tube this weekend, I'm about done with the spoke wheels on my Bonnie needing a tube.

Does Woody's Wheel Works seal up spoked wheels?  If not them, is there anyone else who can seal up spoked wheels and is a reliable and well-established company?  And has anyone used their service?

I'm a little skeptical, I have to admit, but not having to worry about tubes would be a huge load off my mind.

In a perfect world I'd love to swap in some nice cast wheels but from what I recall when I contemplated that switch on my Scrambler, it would have proved cost prohibitive.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
