Could be that Foothills is thinking Harley pricing. 😎

Hey Bob

I know its a bit more than an oil change.  I was trying to be a little sarcastic in the message but it didn't translate well in the post.  Seeing as the 12,000 mile service is about $900 and what is checked, the 6000 mile service seems a bit spendy. Your checklist aligns with a checklist I found a few weeks back in a google search.

I contacted Erico about the 6000 mile service and was told $410 which is more in line that what I expected. The Tiger section of the ADVRider.com forum says about $400 to $450 as cost to expect.  I will have to call Foothills and speak to the Service Manager to confirm that $722 is what they charge for the 6k service.

I like Steve but he is up in Arvada.  Colorado Moto Service is an option for future service. They are close enough to my office that I could kick rocks into their driveway on my way to/from work. I just wanted to let Triumph take care of this service is case there are any warranty issues.  If Triumph does the in-warranty period maintenance, they should have no ammunition if there is an issue during the warranty period. Current issues are engine-throttle surging at 3500 to 4500 rpm and using 1qt of oil between the 600 and 6000 mile service (actually 5650 miles right now). I am told the 1 qt of oil use is within Triumphs specs but again, I don't want to give them an out. The odd horror story about Triumph denying warranty coverage due to a non-Triumph service even though it is not supposed to be grounds for denying a warranty.

Al,

I agree that $722 is high for 6K service. However, there is a little more involved then just a oil change. Attached you will find the  Maintenance Schedule I have been use when I preform the services on my bikes.

Steve Michelson is an option.  Foothills was offering a service special for $50 off $300 spent.   When I said wasn't going to pay $722 for an oil change, they said they could do it for $537.  That is still a lot.

I'm sure Dan will pass along his trusted mechanic.  As long as you prove the work was done they can't deny a later warranty claim.  You might look at Foothills website, they have a Triumph event on March 23 and there were some service discount coupons on the site in conjunction.

Foothills just quoted $722 for the 6000 mile service.  I was thinking it would be better to have a Triumph dealer take care of it so if there were any warranty issues, Triumph USA couldn't give me any grief about who did the service.

I was thinking maybe $450 but over $700, yikes.
