Steve, you might want to check into the shift shaft spring whilst you're digging around in there. Apparently it's a known issue with the 800s. Best of luck!

I did do some research and yes,engine stays in frame,whew!!!

Need to at least purchase a mega powerful impact gun,a clutch grabber tool,gasket/o-ring and oh yea,a shifter shaft.

I just looked at my shop manual, the good news is that you don't need to removed the entire transmigration to replace the selector shaft and Engle Motors has it listed at $166. The bad news is, you need to removed the clutch.
