Coming back from Taos the other day, the route 9 Hartsel detour did the trick. However, heading south the day before, there was a massive backup at Richmond Hill. One would hope it won't be a problem on Friday.

The still pleasant alternative is I-70 - Freemont - Leadville, and will decide if/after hearing Larry's further input.
