Confession, Norm. I have succumbed to motorcycle lust (again) and have broken my New Year's Resolution. But I almost made it! She is due to arrive tomorrow from Tucson . . .
As many of you know from prior posts, Dan and I are long standing fans of Peter Egan, the article author that contributes to Cycle World.--
In his article in the November issue, he reports suffering a stroke while trying to kick start his Norton Commando.
We're pleased to report it was a mild stroke, he even self diagnosed and drove himself to the hospital.
He's pretty well fully recovered but his doc suggested he lower his salt intake and give up kick starting. He took the advice (well, I'm not sure about the salt part) and sold the Norton and bought a new Bonnie 120, silver and red (yeah, my colors).
Dan, I'm not advocating a stroke, but Achilles surgery would seem to carry the same observation Peter makes, "there are worse things in life than having a doctor's prescription to purchase a new motorcycle you were looking for an excuse to buy anyway." PS Dan, New Year's is only 63 days away. Time for a new Resolution!
Have a great November meeting, sounds like a super speaker. See you in December if not before, the snow is flying in the Summit and we're headed home in a couple of weeks. Norm
