Re[2]: [emrat:13595] Morrison to Montrose route options

Norm,

I plan on taking the same route. However, I plan on departing a little latter so maybe I will see you on the road.

Vince Lane and I will be going I-70 to Glenwood, then CO 82. CO 133 and 92 to US 50 then to Montrose.  He will meet me at about 9:30 at the Dunkin Donuts, 120 Blue River Pkwy (HY 9 Exit, 1st after the tunnel,) then right and right.

It doesn't look like anyone has posted a proposed route to Montrose.

We can meet 815 to 830, kickstands up at 845, Phillips 66, 16283 Morrison Rd, Morrison, CO 80465.

Here are the 3 options I am looking at:
1 – Morrison – Cottonwood Pass – Kebler Pass – Montrose
Google maps says 7 hrs 268 miles
We would need to keep an eye on the weather and watch for rain. MSN weather forecast for Friday at Kebler Pass is a high of 75 with a 2% chance of t-storms at 1pm, increasing to 57% at 4pm.
Depending on the bikes in the group, the gravel portion of Kebler pass may be an issue.

2 – Morrison – Cottonwood Pass – Gunnison - Hwy 92 to Hotchkiss – Montrose
Google Maps says 6 hrs 15 min 292 miles
With 50 closed west of the hwy 92, traffic on 92 could be an issue.

3- Morison - Independence Pass – Carbondale - Montrose
Google Maps says 6 ½ hrs 305 miles via Buena Vista or says 6 hrs 286 miles via I70.
Independence Pass to Carbondale is usually busy with traffic.

I will post this on Facebook.
