Valentino Rossi did a Ferrari test years ago and by the indications were he would be fast out of the box in an F1 race. He came out of the car with a HUGE grin, yet stayed with motorcycle racing.
He was offered a test recently with the Mercedes F1 team, who have won the last three drivers and constructor titles, and passed.
Damon Hill raced motorcycles before moving to cars and winning the F1 championship with Williams. He had a win in 350cc bikes, he did not win a championship.
He would have a great chance to repeat John Surtees remarkable feat. Will anyone else every have the right stuff to be able to adapt?

I only just saw the obituary on John Surtees.Remember when Corgi Toys made die-casts of two Surtees F-1 cars.Some how,l still have them both!
Very un-likely that winning world titles on both two and four wheels will ever be duplicated.Cheers Dave
