Have run a few sets of Pilot Power 2CTs which are two compound radials.  Have been very happy with grip, but 4000 best I have gotten from the rear, with current tire down to 3/32 at 2600, arrgh!

Thinking about Michelin Pilot 2's.Not sure if these work on a Sport bike and the availability of a rear tire in a 190 size.

Bullet Bob,l believe l saw Michelins on your S3 but do not recall the exact type.

Any input from fellow S3 owners would be greatly appreciated.Thankyou in advance.
