Re: [emrat:12119] Thinning 'herd!!!

My 2015 FJ-09. Pretty much stock except for the windscreen and a new oil sump pan, updated with the new design moving the drain plug to the side.

Yeah, I did a ton of research before I decided to buy the KTM. One of the videos I watched was that one, and it did a lot to inform my decision. Another video I watched was from an Italian magazine where the testers ride the thing on single tracks and pavement like they stole them. Some German site was pretty thorough in their testing and were pretty impressed.

I bought the bike in March and have about 1200 miles on it. It would have been more, but...we all know what happened.

Watched this on YouTube last night and thought of you, Analog Steve. Quite jealous of your 790 pick up ... I think you're going to like enough to forget all about the guzzie. Check out this video and start getting excited! ;-)

Steve,

You're close indeed. In fact I have already purchased a 2020 KTM 790 Adventure (non R model). It's like a Duke with off pavement capabilities and it handles roads at a very sporty pace if desired. It hit the sweet spot for my current riding area. My local dealership carries and services KTM.

I didn't consider any Triumphs because there are no dealers near here. I decided against the Tenere because I wanted features that are not available on that bike. The 690 didn't have the street/travel abilities I wanted either. Those were all reasonable guesses though.
