As a reminder to everyone planning their routes to Montrose, US 50 is under construction about 5 miles east of Blue Mesa dam. The road is going to be closed until 5:30 PM on Friday. It will be open for traffic until 8:30AM Monday. If you take US 50 west of Gunnison you can still take CO 92 along the north rim of the Black Canyon into Hotchkiss, then through Delta to Montrose.

I'm taking off the Mitas this weekend, going back to road tires. In past years, I've been riding down 85, over Poncha Pass, heading west towards South Fork, then up thru Lake City. Probably do the same this year.

It's been exclusively a solo trip thus far, though company is welcome, there aren't many riders in my neighborhood.

I'm planning to go out Friday and return Monday, which means I need to solve for it in both directions ... thoughts?
