Re: [emrat:12890] Re: Montrose

Who else would be joining us leaving from Morrison? Al is suggesting leaving earlier.

So as of now I'm planning to leave from the usual spot outside Morrison ... ksu 9ish? That should put us in Buena Vista to meet Jim around 11-11:30.

Work for you Jim B?

Yup, agreed, Kebler's just a dirt road. But I was planning on getting an ADV out there anyway, which is a better choice if, as Norm points out, it rains.

I've taken Keibler on my Bonnie with street tires.  A little rough in spots but easily doable unless it's rained within the last 48 hours, then can be slippery.  Great views and upscale ranches for sightseeing.

I could be talked into going that route as well. I have never been over Kebler Pass but I understand its just a gravel road, passable by a regular 2wd car.

Tavis's route is the way Sara and I took to Montrose last year.  I really miss Cottonwood being dirt, but I do have to admit it is pretty nice paved as well 😊

I'm taking my GS, so I would be up for this route as well.  Plan to meet in Buena Vista, maybe?

I'm taking off the Mitas this weekend, going back to road tires. In past years, I've been riding down 85, over Poncha Pass, heading west towards South Fork, then up thru Lake City. Probably do the same this year.

It's been exclusively a solo trip thus far, though company is welcome, there aren't many riders in my neighborhood.
