PEAK Enhancements Coming June 23 - Quick Synopsis  synop

NEW DESIGN: user-friendly design enhancements will improve the navigation on the site and the overall experience for users.

Clients and providers who support the use of PEAK will benefit by developing familiarity with the new website design. There is no impact to functionality other than the enhanced features detailed below.

'APPLY for BENEFITS' LOG-IN CHANGES:
  • Data from the help desk shows that the majority of tickets are in support of clients who have forgotten their user name and password. A great update to the system is that the PEAK site will begin using a client's e-mail address as the user name.  Clients will be able to reset their passwords without contacting the Help Desk.
  • Clients will choose security questions from an enhanced list, and provide answers, that will be used to validate the the identity of anyone seeking to reset a password. They will no longer need to remember the security questions they chose, as these will now be linked to their user name.
CLIENT E-MAIL ADDRESS: Anyone may apply for benefits using PEAK, regardless of whether they have an e-mail address.
  • Without an e-mail address, clients will login as a guest.  With a guest login clients will not be able to save their un-submitted application.
  • With an e-mail address, clients will be able to save an application for submission at a later date and use the new 'Manage My Account' features.
Note: If you would like to use a 'How to Get Email' guide with your clients, you can request one from peakoutreach@bouldercounty.org .

ALL PEAK 'APPLY FOR BENEFITS' applications that are in process and have not been submitted must be submitted prior to 5:00 PM on June 21, 2013 or the information will be lost.
  • After June 23, anyone wishing to save an unfinished PEAK application will need to create an account using an e-mail address as the user name.
  • After June 23, anyone wishing to have a PEAK account (including existing PEAK account holders) will be required to create a new account using an e-mail address as the user name.
NEW MY ACCOUNT FEATURE:  Clients will access the 'Report My Changes' and 'Check My Benefits' functions from a new 'Manage My Account' section of the PEAK website, where they can manage their account and benefit information.

Some of the NEW FEATURES include:
  • Enhanced password reset capabilities.
  • A new client dashboard with easily accessible details of account and benefit information - including new benefits history.
  • A new link to the EBT Card website where clients will be able to monitor their Cash and/or Food Assistance benefit.
Keep in mind that clients wishing to use these feature will need to create an account using an e-mail address as their user name.

Existing PEAK account holders will need to re-create their account using an e-mail address as their user name.

OPT-IN to EXPRESS LANE ELIGIBILITY:  Children receiving Food or Cash Assistance benefits and who qualify for a Medical Assistance program will be able to opt-in electronically through PEAK, in addition to completing and returning the paper opt-in forms.

PROVIDER PORTAL PILOT:  Two Pueblo area medical providers will test 'adding a baby' on behalf of their clients through a new portal on the PEAK website.

PEAK will be positioned to exchange needed information swiftly and accurately, and will meet the challenge of providing a world-class electronic application system as mandated by the Affordable Care Act.
