This full-day workshop is designed to provide a solid theoretical framework and practical skills for goal-oriented intervention strategies in the management and treatment of sexually abusive youth. A developmental-contextual approach is used, one which emphasizes growth and development as the vehicle for offense-specific change. Often those children who have been victimized exhibit behaviors which call out to us for help. Designed for human service workers, the course addresses a uniquely troubled and troubling client population. Workers new to this will benefit from the instructor's experience in research and practice with sexually abusive youth, while experienced case managers will be challenged to re-examine and articulate their beliefs about the work they are doing and become aware of new developments in the field.
