[emrat:3286] Children's Hospital Toy Run

Hey, RATs, just wanted to see if we could coordinate a meeting time and place for the Children's Hospital Toy Run this coming Sunday. 

 

As of a few minutes ago the weather forecast for Sunday was for a high of 14, a low of -2, and a 30% chance of snow, but AFAIK the toy run is still on  (hey, the kids shouldn't suffer just because Mother Nature decided to do what she does best, right?)

 

In any case, if you want to go, you still need to register at any of the HD dealers in town. 

 

Back in 2009 when the weather was also cold and snowy, they just had a large toy collection at the Sports Park for those who wanted to drop their toys there, and another one at the hospital (at the Fitzsimmons complex.)   The Sports Park is off of East Colfax,  just East of Tower Road. 

 

The Sports Park opens at 8 and the flyer says "All bikes in by 10."  (Back in 2009 I saw exactly two bikes, a Sportster - ridden in the parking lot only - and a couple in a Ural sidehack rig on East Colfax.   The passenger in the Hack did NOT look happy!) 

 

For those who want to meet for breakfast, given our spectacularly bad service last year, I would suggest we avoid the Dennys at Airport and I-70, and instead meet at the Village Inn at Colfax and Chambers.  I'll be there between 8 and 8:30, and will most likely do the "drop and run" at the Sports Park and then head home.
