Re: [emrat:3316] Digest for emrat@googlegroups.com - 22 Messages in 2 Topics

Well Steve it does matter...well to me anyway...hahaha I knew you said you were going to off load your Bimmer and you mentioned the cost and frequency of scheduled maintenance as a key factor. Makes sense to me. Hopefully you will be replacing it with a Triumph Tiger like we talked about. They are so freakin sweet I know you will love it!!! And besides...we need more Triumphs in our Triumph Club...hahaha

Not that it matters much but I am going to lower the BMW ratio by one this spring. It just ain't working out for me.

While doing my bike search via the internet, I came across a dealership called "Pikes Peak Motorsports" down in CO Springs, off of Powers.  Doing a google map search, the Street View shot from August 2011 shows the building as empty, so I'm guessing it's either a new dealership or that they used to be located elsewhere and have relocated to the area along Powers (which is a very fast-growing part of CO Springs, I've noticed.)

Anyway, their web site (http://www.pikespeakmotorsports.org) indicates they have a Triumph franchise.  Interesting as I thought Apex was the only Triumph dealer in the Springs.

Hopefully this is a sign that Triumph continues to expand their dealer footprint.  More dealers = more Triumphs on the road = a better deal all around for everyone.

Yup Martin...there is another Triumph dealer in the Springs. I was there last Spring with CPT Bob, Denise, Sean, and Sara. It is a new dealership. I have no idea how they are doing but I didn't get a great feeling from the people I met there. Just my personal perception as I've had no dealings with them.

I'm getting a little concerned that we may have to change our club name or disassociate from Erico/Triumph with all the Bimmers joining the flock...hahaha

From what I was told by the new dealer (Pikes Peak), he knows the owner of Foothills well, but they are not affiliated with Foothills.

Apparently they were awarded a franchise by Triumph for Colorado Springs, because Apex has consistently missed sales quotas. This from Pikes Peak, so take it for what it is worth.

Sara and I did our part adding the Street Triple R last year. Working on getting our friend Katie to trade her 650GS for a Tiger Roadie in 2014 and maybe getting Sara to trade her 650GS for a Tiger Roadie in 2015 :)

Otherwise, we are seriously going to have to consider a name change to Erico Motorsports Riders Club, become an MOA Charter and move our meetings to Helga's hahahaha

Hahaha. Yeah BMWMOA is their Motorcycle Owners of America hahaha. I think you only need like 10 members in your club to form a charter. RMMRC has a charter.

Otherwise, we are seriously going to have to consider a name change to Erico Motorsports Riders Club, become an MOA Charter and move our meetings to Helga's hahahaha

I have no idea how they are doing but I didn't get a great feeling from the people I met there. Just my personal perception as I've had no dealings with them.

Yeah, between towing fees and extending the hotel stay. Then it was at the dealer for almost 3 months waiting for parts. Which is why she will likely look at a Tiger roadie or something else to replace it soon. That coming at the same time she broke her wrist, made for a really lousy and expensive summer hahaha

I added roadside assistance to my insurance at Foremost for the Rocket and
it only cost me $10.00/year extra, it paid off when Magnus my Swedish friend
broke down in New Mexico last spring on the Rocket.

They reimbursed us everything, they had to pay for towing and truck rental
to take it back to Denver, total $690.00.
