Re: [emrat:3337] Safe at Erico's!

Martin,

That is what I had thought as well.  Every vehicle I have bought or sold, has included that "Odometer Disclosure Statement" where you have to check the box for  "The Odometer Reading is the Actual Mileage of the Vehicle,"  "The Mileage States is in Excess of the Mechanical Limits," or "The Odometer Reading is NOT the actual Mileage - Warning Odometer Discrepancy"

But if you don't plan to re-sell, I suppose it is just down to your comfort level with the condition of the bike.

Dan:  Glad to hear that your "baby" is in a safe place.

Sean:  Sellers are supposed to put mileage on the back of the title and then certify whether, to the best of their knowledge, the mileage is true or not true.  I suppose if the seller did not complete this or completed it incorrectly, Dan might be able to void the sale but I don't know why he would.

An uncertain odometer could affect resale value but since I'm pretty sure Dan has never sold a motorcycle, I don't think he's worried about resale value!
