Anyone else interested in doing the 31st annual Children's Hospital Toy Run this coming Sunday, Dec 4th? Details can be found at the Rocky Mountain Harley Davidson web site or facebook page. If anyone else wants to go, lets meet at our usual spot, the Village Inn at Colfax and Chambers RD around 8:30 or 9. Weather Channel shows that Sunday should be a good day to ride, Partly cloudy with a high of 52.
For those that haven't done it, this is a fun ride. Cost of the ride is a new, unwrapped toy. If you go to the RMHD web site and click on the "events" tab, there is a link to suggested/recommended gifts. The short version is this: The biggest need is for gifts for older kids (adolescents) ages 13 - 18. Gift cards are acceptable, too!
You do need to register prior to the event. In past years, all 4 of the metro area HD dealers were doing registration. Not sure if that is still the case, but I do know for sure that Rocky MTN HD on County Line Road near Santa Fe will be registering people.
The event starts at the Aurora Sports Park on East Colfax. Park opens at 8:30 and all bikes have to be in by 10:00.
Ride leaves the sports park starting at 11:00. If it's a nice day and there are a lot of bikes, you can expect to wait as long as an hour at the sports park for your group to depart, so dress and prepare accordingly.
Last year I think there were over 5,000 bikes.
