Meh. Not sure what the hubbub is about.

First off, Polaris will continue to push the Indian brand, in lieu of Victory, so it's really not the case that Victory is going away, it's more accurate to say that Victory is changing its name to Indian.

Second, does the American bike market really NEED another big V-twin cruiser?  Hasn't that been done to death?  Other than tweaking the Harley formula, did Victory really bring anything new or revolutionary to the US Motorcycle market?  Maybe if they had produced something other than a big-inch V-twin, their departure would be worth mourning but I, for one, won't miss the RC Cola of American V-twins.

Personally I'd love to see an American company actually make a mid-sized bike in some configuration other than V-twin.  An American thumper dirtbike might be nice, or an American lightweight inline twin in the 400cc  - 600cc class would  be something remarkable.    But a big-displacement V-twin gets a big yawn from me because there's nothing new or interesting about it.

I just heard that Polaris is pulling a Buell on the Victory brand. If you're thinking about buying one they'll probably be making deals soon. Maybe you can get the Craftsman toolset to go with it. Bummer #2 this year and it's only been 9 freaking days!
