Back in the late 80s I met Mel when I had him port the heads on my 77 HD Super Glide. He was eccentric as hell back then and it doesn't look like he mellowed out with age. His bike that he was famous for was a chopper that would shoot out flames from the fiberglass dragon head he built on his bike.His shop was in Falcon, CO on the eponymous Dragon Man Drive.
