[CPN] Traffic Alert - Peña Boulevard Bridge Girder Set

TRAFFIC ALERT

Bridge Girders to Be Installed Over Peña Boulevard as Part of East Rail Line Construction

Denver, March 15, 2013 – The Regional Transportation District's contractor for the East Rail Line, Denver Transit Partners (DTP), will install girders on the commuter rail bridge over Peña Boulevard, just east of E-470, beginning March 16. While this work is underway, the following traffic restrictions will be in place:

  • From 9 p.m. Saturday, March 16, until 4 a.m. Sunday, March 17, girders will be installed over westbound/outbound Peña Boulevard. Traffic in both directions will be reduced to one lane and detoured around the construction area. Drivers should follow traffic control signs and allow additional time to leave the airport.
  • From 7 p.m. Monday, March 18, until 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, girders will be installed within the Peña Boulevard median. Although this work is not expected to impact traffic along Peña Boulevard, drivers should use caution around work areas.

This work is part of the construction of the East Rail Line between downtown Denver and Denver International Airport. The project is part of the RTD's FasTracks program.

Drivers are asked to slow down in construction zones and comply with posted signs.

Construction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other factors. In the event of after-hour emergencies, call 1-855-EAGLE P3 (324-5373). For additional construction information, or if you have questions, please contact the DTP Public Information Team at 303-297-5284.
