Subject: Meeting Place

Erica and I went to Interstate to have brunch and check it out as a potential meeting place.  We were joined by Sean, Sara, Wayne, and Ron.  This is a pretty cool little place with an automotive theme.  There is a lounge area that has the cab of an old truck.

  1. We checked out the room and it is pretty well closed off from the rest of the place.  It is definitely big enough for us, even if our numbers grow.
  2. The food was excellent.  They make their own hot sauce in house that is very good and I don't think any one of us had complaints.
  3. They have no problem with individual checks.
  4. They have a full bar.  They only have 4 taps, but it isn't "Bud and Miller".  Lots of bottles and cans as well.  There is some "tour" type promotion as well, for local whiskeys (kinda like Old Chicago, except whiskeys).
  5. Even though they are in the Art District, parking will not be a problem.  There is street parking out front and they have garage parking just for their customers (see attached image).  This may be handy for tech demos, etc.  I didn't ask if that is a possibility in the garage, but we can ask about that if/when the time comes.
  6. The ONLY drawback we saw was that there was no media.  I know in the past, we have taken care of that on our own (and by "we", I mean Tim).
  7. With it being an automotive theme, and the owners are riders, they seem happy to have us.

The 6 of us made an executive decision and went ahead and booked for Tuesday 2/4.  Tim, unless you have any strong objections, I think we have our February meeting place and the owner seemed ready to commit to every first Tuesday.

The address is 1001 Santa Fe Dr.  It's on the Northwest corner of 10th and Santa Fe.  Website is http://www.interstaterestaurant.com/.

Thanks Doc, for the find!
