Re: [emrat:4435] Conflict Solved!

I think there must be a "rule" somewhere that if you ride long enough, sooner or later you'll end up on a Harley, a Gold Wing, or a BMW.  It's just inevitable.

OMG, a BMW in the stable even if it is hidden on some island.

I think it's someone else's turn to rescue a Triumph.

My interest seems to have settled on finding low-mileage, very-good
condition 955 cc Triumphs for a reasonably modest price (thanks again,
Curtis!).  All I need to complete my collection is a Sprint ST . . . .
but I'm not interested in the Tiger (no offense, Mr. Warfman).

Anyway, I have a possible purchase up here on Vashon Island: a black
1983 R65 BMW with an 800 cc big-bore kit installed by the famous San
Jose BMW shop.  My friend, Steve, owns it, but has not been able to
ride it because he has a heart problem over the last few years.  He
said that, if he decides to sell it for $2,800, he would first have to
offer it to his brother-in-law.  I rode the bike around the island
yesterday, just to exercise it for him.  It has an after-market German
exhaust system that cackles and roars.  It's quite a hoot to ride and,
at about 5,000 rpm, it launches!

For those of us who are dedicated to rescuing Triumphs, I found one in
dire need of being rescued. I saw a very rough Triumph TT600 at a p a
pawn shop in the 7400 block on West Colfax. They want $2,000, which
seems high for the condition of the bike.
