Proposal Writing

Did you know that only 12% of charitable giving went to human service causes in 2013? Did you know that Americans (individuals, foundations, corporations, bequests) gave $335.17 billion in 2013 and giving is back on the rise? Would you like to learn how to write successful grant proposals to benefit your customers and organization?

'

This is an interactive course with hands-on exercises that will provide you with information, tools and resources you can use the very next day to de-mystify the process, organize your efforts, and write a winning proposal! We will start with identifying a need and researching possible funding options. We will make the process manageable with tools and tips. And we will spend time writing powerful language that will attract a funder.

The participant will:

  • Learn to produce successful grant proposals from the initial concept to critical components of a proposal.
  • Learn what types of funding might meet your needs (and which ones won't) and how to go after different types of funding.
  • Learn where to locate potential funders (public and private including government, foundation, and corporate) using internet searches, guides and publications).
  • Practice writing various components of a proposal based on a logic model.
  • Examine critical elements for a budget.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Lead staff, supervisors, managers in human service organizations, as well as any staff member interested in developing professional skills that will enhance their advancement opportunities.

PRESENTER: Gayann Brandenburg, MS, is the Director of the Center for Technical Assistance and Training (CTAT) at RMHS.
