Hello all,

As I mentioned last night, the Spring overnight ride will be on Saturday May, 20, and will end up in the lovely town of Westcliffe, CO. I will update the departure time as the date gets closer, and the travel route will be dependent on the weather conditions. Since it is still springtime in the Rockies, it can be sunny or rainy, so be prepared for anything!

We will be staying at the Courtyard Country Inn on Main Street, one block from the thriving (?) downtown area. There are only a total of 8 rooms (only 7 still available because I booked the first one!), so that means if we book it solid we will have the place to ourselves. This is a really nice place to spend the evening, as it is an interior courtyard with lighting, a chiminea for heat if needed, and lots of seating. They discussed providing us breakfast as they were a B&B last time we were there,That is still up in the air, but the last time we were there it was pretty darn good. If they get the approval to do that it will add $10 to the room prices. They will hold the rooms exclusively for us until March 15, which is only 2 weeks, so you want to get on board soon. Tell Mo you're with the Denver motorcycle group or mention my name. You don't want to miss out!

I have also contacted the Antlers Motel just down the street in case we have more riders than there are rooms. It isn't quite as nice, but it is a bit cheaper, as well being less expensive. It also has 8 rooms, and the owner (Moose) has some great replies to comments on Trip Advisor that you just have to read! As an added attraction, the Antlers is attached to a liquor store (which is where you check in), so the people watching is fun too! If anyone needs a good inside story on this place, Larry and Ron, or TK can provide an entertaining anecdote or two.

Just in case this thing goes viral and we book up both motels, there is also the Westcliffe Inn, It is a good half mile from the center of town, and is a larger more mainstream type establishment that is totally soulless compared to the downtown venues. Still, if you miss out on the others...

We have stayed in all of these places over the years, and they were very accommodating but very different experiences. We've meet the local constabulary while at all of them except at the Courtyard Country Inn. Interior courtyards do have their advantages. Just sayin'...

The accommodations info:

Courtyard Country Inn
5 queen bed rooms left - $90
2 double twin beds left - $100
If breakfast is available, there will be an additional $10 per room

Antlers Motel
8 rooms left, various sleeping configurations - $65

Westcliffe Inn
Lots of rooms, but I didn't check on pricing, probably $85 - 100

Here comes summer, lets's start it off right!
