Bob and Denise have issued their travel plan to Montrose, starting from Franktown and taking a southerly route.
I will be leading another group on an alternate route, leaving from Morrison Friday morning. We will meet at the Conoco Station at the C-470/Morrison exit. Kickstands up at 8:30. The detailed route is outlined below. If you plan on riding with this group, please let me know.

Fairplay | 68 | Brief stop at first gas station on right.. Continue on US-285, turn north at Johnson Corners onto US-24 |
Buena Vista | 106 | Stop for Gas. Continue on US-24 to Twin Lakes turnoff onto CO-82 |
Top of Independence Pass | 149 | Stop for break and view. Continue on CO-82 to Aspen |
Aspen | 169 | Continue on CO-82 to Carbondale |
Carbondale | 200 | Stop for Gas and lunch. Continue south on CO-133 over McClure Pass |
Hotchkiss | 266 | Stop at Hotchkiss to see if anyone wants to take the optional route below. Otherwise, continue on CO-133 to Delta. Optional route starting at Hotchkiss: turn south on CO-92; this takes you to the overlook of the Gunnison canyon (stunning views and lovely MC road). This option adds another 48 miles to the Montrose destination (approximately 358 miles total). |
