Hi all-
I am contacting this group on the behalf of Professional Therapy Dogs of Colorado (PTDC). We believe strongly in the healing powers of the human-animal bond, and it is our mission to support mental health professionals who are dedicated to safely and ethically incorporating animal-assisted work into their practice. Unlike many other animal-assisted therapy organizations, we do not expect “perfect dog”; instead, we emphasize a goodness of fit between the knowledge and skills of human and canine co-therapists, and the qualities of the environment in which they work. Our registered human-canine co-therapist teams work in a diversity of settings, including schools, private practices, residential facilities, community-based work, and much more.
To this end, we offer two-day educational workshops, in addition to consultation/supervision opportunities. Workshop attendees can expect to learn more about the ethics involved with animal-assisted practice, creative interventions for wide variety of populations, dog behavior/training tips and tricks, and much more! Our next 2-day workshop will be on October 1st and 2nd, 2016, from 9:30AM-4:30PM in Aurora, CO.
To learn more about costs, what's included, and/or to register, please visit our website: http://www.
Thank you so much for the work you all do! We hope to see you there!
Wags,
The Professional Therapy Dogs of Colorado Team
