Help Make it Happen; Volunteer at Feeding the 5000 Front Range

This October, we’re thrilled to let you know that Feedback [an environmental organization dedicated to ending food waste and promoting sustainability and resourcefulness across the food chain,]  with the support of The Rockefeller Foundation and a coalition of partners in Colorado, will be bringing the Feeding the 5000 campaign to the Front Range!

On Friday, October 14th from 11am-4pmFeeding the 5000 Front Range will be posting up in Denver's Skyline Park. Thousands of members (3000 is what we're aiming for!) of the public will be provided with a delicious free feast, sourced entirely from fresh top-quality produce that would have otherwise been wasted. This amazing event is only possible with lots of hands! We need volunteers to help us advertise, organize, prep, and serve the meal, as well educators and communicators to talk to the many feast-goers.

Click here to volunteer and help us by spreading the word to friends and family.

In addition to the free lunch, there will be a variety of personalities and activities on the day, including smoothie-making on bike blenders, interactive quizzes, and stalls featuring a variety of information and thoughts from partner organizations.

Not to mention, a Disco Chop Party! In the lead up to main Feeding the 5000 event, volunteers are welcomed to party with a purpose at the Disco Chop Denver, where you can cut a rug and some veg, and chop or bop 'til you drop! Come groove to the beat (or beet!) while peeling and chopping all of the freshly rescued vegetables and produce to be served at the main festival. There will be DJs, chefs, snacks, dancing, and an all-around good time - no more fun way to fight food waste! Keep posted for more details here!

The event is free to enter and open to all. To volunteer for Feeding the 5000 Front Range or Disco Chop Denver, please sign up beforehand here.

Please join us taking #FoodWaste #OffTheMenu!
