Re: [emrat:10043] 2012 Tiger

I had a '12 Tiger 800 ABS (cast wheels). I had the lowering links installed, as I rarely went offroad with it.  The bike was very good on dirt roads, too, however I never took it on jeep or single track roads.  I installed the Triumph accessory gel seat (not the pillion portion), which I found to be very comfortable. I had a Fuel Exhaust Systems stainless muffler installed, which was quite loud with the removable baffle out.  Performance was excellent. Traded it for a new Bonneville; it had 13,000+ miles on it.  I never rode 2-up on it.  Wayne E.

It did suffer a major electrical fault and I had to have the main wiring harness replaced, in 2015.  TCA did not cover any of the costs for this repair.  I do not know if other Tiger owners have experienced any similar problems.  Needless to say, I was upset with TCA's response, however my local dealer, Erico Motorsports in Denver, CO, split the labor costs with me, which in manhours was quite substantial.

Dani and I have been talking about getting a tiger for some longer distance and off road fun.

Anyone have an opinion on the 2012 year model as far as reliability, comfort, etc? Are they solid high model bikes?

In other news. Had a great ride on my speedmaster this weekend. Took the long way from Atlanta, up through the tobacco fields of KY, and tooled around Louisville for a few days.
