RE: [emrat:10056] 2012 Tiger

Hourglass are good guys. They are just across Lake Lanier from my parents house.

Norm is right in that the North Georgia mountains are great to ride in. You'll want to take Georgia 400 north up to Dahlonega and from there follow Ga 19 north til it splits with Ga 60. Then follow 19 over Blood Mountain. That will go up to Blairsville, GA. Nice ride through the mountains if you have the time. Or if you follow GA 60 through Suches, GA then to Mckaysville, TN.

Good Riding.

Jeff

Here's your plan:

Have Hourglass Cycles (Triumph-BMW Dealer) in Atlanta pick it up and get it running right.  Fly to Atlanta and pick it up there.  Ride the North Georgia Mts. and on to Chattanooga and then start the ride home through Nashville, St Louis, KC etc.  Best way to get familiar with your new ride.  Congrats.

That's great to hear you had success two-up off road. My lady and I ride together often, and I like the idea of sharing in the off road adventures.

Thanks all, for your input. I ended up purchasing the bike before coming back to Denver this week. It's currently sitting in the garage back in atl waiting for me to put together a plan to bring it here.

2012, 30k miles, owner previously by a 60-something year old guy who is active in the rat community. I fee pretty good about the bikes history.

It was hard to turn down since it had all be goodies. Givi airflow screen, trail lights, engine guards, skid plate, luggage, arrow exhaust, headlight guards, and so on.

With that said, on the short ride home I noticed the bike is real touchy off and on throttle with a lot of popping on decel. In addition, it will not rev above 6k rpm. My guess is it needs new plugs, clean filter, and probably has the wrong map for the arrow.

Jake,
The 800XC is an amazing bike.
Had the 1200, but was top heavy and the suspension to rigid.
Kim and I just got back from Custer State park, what a great ride.
30% dirt and 70% asphalt.
She weighs in at a buck and a quarter, but you don't know she's behind you.
Looking to sell mine, for the right price.

Dani and I have been talking about getting a tiger for some longer distance and off road fun.

Anyone have an opinion on the 2012 year model as far as reliability, comfort, etc? Are they solid high model bikes?

In other news. Had a great ride on my speedmaster this weekend. Took the long way from Atlanta, up through the tobacco fields of KY, and tooled around Louisville for a few days.
