Job Summary: Provides job readiness, job development, job search and job placement services under the direction of the agency's Director of Programs. 

 

Minimum Requirements:    

·         Minimum of two years of successful experience providing employment services for non-profit agencies workforce agencies or private staffing firms. 

·         Ability to provide technical direction to adult participants in all areas of employment services.

·         Experience working with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, including homeless and ex-offender populations.

·         Must possess knowledge of effective methods and techniques of job development, labor market trends and employment opportunities in private, non-profit and public sectors.

  • Proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish a plus.

 

Duties:                       

·         Assesses client strengths, interests, skills, job and education/training history as well as barriers to employment to support participants' success in achieving self-sufficiency goals.

·         Initiates and maintains relationships with employers to promote job placements.

·         Assists participants with resume writing, applications, job search, interviewing skills, job placement and job retention.

·         Collects information from employers on job openings including required skills and  education/training in order to match employers with qualified participants.

·         Prepares reports as needed.

·         Refers participants to partnering agencies for services and education/training opportunities that are not currently provided by ACCESS Housing, Inc.

·         Provides employment workshops and presentations to participants.

·         Assists with recruitment, marketing and outreach efforts.
