Subject: Spanish-language webcast on healthcare and women from the Department of LaborWe have been asked by DoL to help get the word out about a free upcoming webcast for women with health coverage. The webcast is May 13 from 2 - 4 pm EST. The webcast will be presented in Spanish. Anyone interested in more information and to register, can visit http://mp163422.cdn.mediaplatform.com/163422/wc/mp/4000/15208/15212/35192/Lobby/default.htm?ref=ProductionTeamEmailWomen are key consumers of health benefits. Working women often make the most important health care decisions for their family and act as caregivers when family members fall ill. As a result, they need to be well informed about health coverage. There are many health coverage protections under the law - many that specifically benefit women. Therefore, women need the knowledge and tools that will help them carry out their many roles when it comes to health coverage decisions. As part of Women's Health Week, the US Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration is holding this webcast to explain what women should know when they get health insurance, how to take advantage of their coverage, and what to do if they lose their health coverage due to a life or work event. Information will be provided on protections including those under the Affordable Care Act, COBRA and the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act.Brooke LegginWeb and Community ManagerOffice on Women’s HealthU.S. Department of Health and Human Services200 Independence Avenue, S.W., Room 712E, Washington, DC 20201E-mail: brooke.leggin@hhs.govMain: 202-690-7650 | Direct: M, T, Th: 202-205-2373 W, F: 202-248-8439
