The continued impact of Los Angeles style gangs in Colorado, the murders of JonBenet Ramsey and Jessica Ridgeway, the Columbine Massacre, the Aurora Theater Shooting, and the murders of Denver Police Officer Celena Hollis and Colorado D.O.C. What role does mental illness play and what impact do these events have on mental health and neighborhood resources? What are effective strategies for community mobilization and organizing in the midst of trauma? In this interactive, 1-day intensive training, mental health expert, Dr. Peggy Mitchell Norwood and community organizer and founder of brother jeff's Cultural Center, brother jeff answer these questions and offer their insights, best practices, and recommendations for individuals, agencies and organizations in our communities.
