Re: [emrat:4966] The 27th Annual Rhubarb Festival

Good on ya for hitting that dirt!  I really miss blasting down the bar trail from Rampart Range road, down to the Sprucewood, then up over Russel Gulch.  Then we'd get to the bottom (since Top of the World was closed) and find a group of riders debating on whether they wanted to engage in some illegal riding and take the road back, or try to get back up what they just went down.  At which point we would turn back around and run it in reverse.

Had the V-Strom in the Lost Park area this weekend.

Who was channeling Trip Miller on the ride after the Rhubarb Festival?!  I left about 5 minutes after the main group heading South and ya'll were GONE!  Anyway, I stopped at Deckers and then headed North down the river road.  It's paved all the way to Foxton now, (I think), however I took Nighthawk Hill past the Sprucewood Inn and into Sedalia, and then back into town, just beating the rain!  NH is about 3.5 miles of dirt, lots of washboard and some blue groove dirt track-like surface.  Unfortunately I was behind a couple of trucks kicking up dust and hung back until they were down the road a bit.  I was going to ride all the way to Foxton and come back on 285, however a Harley Dude with his old lady on the back of his Bagger got on to NH in front of the trucks, and that was like waving a red flag in front of me, especially since I had my Gary Nixon shirt on!
The ride to Pine was fun; I like following Tomas on his R3, as he appears to be toddling along, and then pulls the trigger and disappears into the gloom!  Gives me a chance to air out the Tiger!  I expected DP to come by me on the rear wheel of his Daytona 955 at any minute, however I think he was checking out chicks in all of the many Jeeps we passed on the way up.
