That's actually not a terrible price. Airheads are very collectible and from what I've seen, airhead GS bikes are somewhat rare on the used market (at least compared to the much more common oilhead GS's.)
Try finding any Hinckley Triumph in running condition for under $3000. They pop up from time to time, but very rarely. OTOH there are quite a few $1500 beemers out there, just because BMW has been around a lot longer than Hinckley Triumphs have.
