With traction control and a HUGE advantage in tire contact patch (not to mention 800+ HP for the F1 car), I wasn't surprised at the outcome.

In late '83, a short TV film along these lines was made featuring Freddie Spencer on his GP championship winning NS500, Steve(?) Mcglaughlin on a VF1000F streetbike, and a driver piloting the latest Formula Ford racer.  It was held on the original course (2.9 mi.?) at Laguna Seca.  The car driver was given a 30 sec. headstart, then the VF 15 sec. later, then Spencer.  Spencer  passed Mc in turn 3, by which time the FF car was 1/2 lap ahead.  The FF car was within 100 yards of the finish when Spencer came by in a blur.  Does anybody recall seeing this?

I figured the Formula would take them. I would have thought the bike would have done better though.
